WHO addresses climate change in health care settings

As part of the healthy settings approach, WHO has developed a discussion draft report entitled "Healthy Hospitals, Healthy Planet, Healthy People:  Addressing climate change in health care settings". This report was presented at the World Public Health Conference in Istanbul in May 2009 as well as during the discussions at the World Health Assembly. Along the way, it has of course been brough up what kind of collaboration this type of effort could have with the HPH network, and the International HPH Secretariat was accordingly approached by WHO HQ on the issue. The initial elements of this was discussed at a meeting on September 1st 2009, and hopefully more developments will take place soon - for instance at the HPH Conference 2010 in manchester.

At www.healthpromotinghospitals.org we will keep you posted on any new developments.
